Matching the bold design and substantial form of the flagship series, the QUAD PLATINA STREAM distils generations of QUAD engineering into a network player designed for the modern listener. PLATINA STREAM combines the brand’s renowned musical integrity with a clean, purposeful industrial aesthetic: a rigid metal chassis, side-mounted heat sinks, anti-resonance feet and an anodised fascia speak to QUAD’s obsession with build quality. A single machined-aluminium knob and discreet function keys flank the crisp 4.3-inch IPS display, creating a digital streaming centre-piece that is both tactile and unmistakably QUAD

Whether hard-wired via Gigabit Ethernet or connected over dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4/5 GHz), the PLATINA STREAM ensures fast, reliable network performance for uninterrupted, bit-perfect playback. At the core of its intelligent streaming platform lies the intuitive QUAD PLATINA app, offering seamless access to leading music services including Spotify, Tidal, Qobuz, and TuneIn Radio, with high-resolution album artwork visualisation.
The App
Controlled by a dedicated QUAD PLATINA app, it has been purpose-built to match its functionality's pedigree, transforming any iOS or Android device into an elegant command centre for both local and cloud-based libraries. Refined typography, logical hierarchy, and fluid gesture control ensure the experience feels as considered as the hardware itself.
A lightning-fast indexer works in the background to catalogue network shares, USB drives, and streaming services as a single, unified library. Simply type a song title, performer, composer, label, year, or even a genre, and the app returns precise results in real time, ranked by relevance.
With user-customisable functions and settings, the PLATINA app offers the ability to build an on-the-fly playlist and save it permanently with a single gesture. The user can create playlists or folders to keep expansive catalogues organised and even collate multi-disc box-sets, remasters, or themed compilations into a single location for uncluttered browsing. Long-press on any track, album, or artist, and a context menu appears: add to playlist, queue next, play now, replace queue, and more.
Unlike many third-party front-ends, the QUAD app maintains native highlighting of Qobuz Studio / Sublime+ and Tidal Masters tiers with icons to indicate the provenance of such files, so one glance confirms you are hearing the highest-resolution version available.
The Integration
For users who favour the interface of their preferred streaming service, PLATINA STREAM provides full compatibility with Qobuz Connect, Tidal Connect, Spotify Connect, Airplay 2 and UPnP music server systems or digital audio files stored on USB HDD devices—delivering both flexibility and fidelity without compromise.

The DAC
At its core lies the ESS Sabre ES9038PRO eight-channel DAC, driven by dual precision master clocks for vanishingly low jitter, class-leading linearity and support for PCM up to 768 kHz and native DSD512. A Quad Arm® Cortex-A53 multi-core processor running at 1.8 GHz per core provides the computational muscle for fast library handling, album-art caching and rock-solid playback control. This DAC matches the performance of the QUAD PLATINA INTEGRATED solution, for a seamless and precision-matched performance. However, by design the PLATINA STREAM offers wider functionality with its digital and analogue outputs – it will slot straight into any audio system by way of a pure digital or high fidelity analogue output option.

Thanks to its high-performance onboard digital-to-analogue stage, the stability and quality of the signal path are preserved with balanced XLR and RCA analogue output options.
